Mayfly Mania

They’re baaaccckkk.... Our favorite little friends that keep the walleyes full. The mayfly hatch occurred this week which has slowed down the fishing. We are having to run East to deeper water. Fish are biting in the evening with low light, however it’s a challenge when they’re are millions (that’s no exaggeration) of fresh mayflies for them to eat!

This is the charter where I got the competition together on one 37 ft boat, added some beer, talked business including estimating projects, and sat back waiting for the companies to butt heads! It didn’t work - everyone got along and some of us got a little too much sun. TP mechanical guys were great. Thanks John, Ron, and Mike for the business. We caught a few walleye but overall, the fishing was slow. We did catch tons of sheaphead. This sheaphead thing is getting old. Oh, and maybe I should mention that I missed the numbers on the late afternoon bite so we had to run 20 miles further out....ouch, that burned a lot of gas.
